Hey, I’m Joy—and yes, photography really is my joy.

I’m a wife, a proud mama to three incredible kids, and a lifelong storyteller with a camera in hand. I’m based right here in my hometown of Dubuque, Iowa, where I get to do what I love most: capture real moments for real people.

My photography journey started early—at just 19 years old—working as a professional photographer at the Telegraph Herald. Now, with an Associate’s Degree in Photography and 26 years of experience, my passion for this art has only grown deeper. Next year, I’ll be celebrating 20 years in business in Dubuque, and honestly… my heart is so full.

I specialize in families, kids, babies, sports, business photography, and special events—because life moves fast, and those moments deserve to be remembered. I believe the best photos aren’t about perfection; they’re about connection, laughter, emotion, and being unapologetically yourself.

I am beyond grateful to be blessed with a career that doesn’t feel like work and to everyone who has trusted me with their memories over the years. Thank you for your support, your love, and for letting me tell your stories—one photo at a time.
